this is what it's all about

i got this from a fan today .... this is the stuff that keeps me going , the stuff that lets me know i "made it" .. my 1 and only goal for ever doing music was to touch someone the way my influences did me ... and here's proof that i got what i wanted.

mubo,

my name is Rj and i am as you guessed it one of your fans.im sure you probably get a million of these kinds of messages a day, but to be honest you are the one who inspired me to actually start making music. hell, the only reason i listened to deadstar assembly was for the sound of a keyboard that sounded perfect for the song.

i am really looking foward to hearing your solo project because i know that anything you make will blow us all away.

your fan,

Rj

robots & welders

i went to GA. for thankgiving to visit the family, had a bad ass time riding motorcycles in the mountains, it's SO MUCH BETTER than riding here in florida!

went to harbor freight with the old man on black friday and picked up a mig welder for all those project ideas i never seem to finish! haha

i also joined a robotics club here in ft.lauderdale (www.sunbots.org) it's only a small group right now, but the guys are pretty cool and im looking forward to going to more meetings.... it's pretty weird for me tho, considering my social issues and fears of being around ppl, but i guess that just goes to show how much influence "free education" has on me .. oh yea..and robots :)

Poly - razzmataz

So what falls into my lap this time?
nothing less than another synthesizer... a freebie!
a co-worker is moving and decided his korg poly-61 needed a new home, and as with most people, he figured who better to give some broken junk to than me!

the synth came with a really nice hardcase, and as i was warned before accepting the beast...it works FAR from perfect.

loving to take shit apart the way i do.. i have no problem with it not working correctly..in fact it makes the thing that much more interesting to me! .... there is nothing like the challenge of fixing something..

i have had great luck in the past fixing vintage gear, so hopefully i will be as lucky this time..... if not, no biggie i got tons of parts for something else!

THANKS KEN!!!!

my baby boy

This is the wonderful lil boy given to me by my wife for my Birthday....

His name is moogy, he's a pot belly pig that we got from the wildlife care center, he was an orphan found wandering the streets after a hurricane.

Now he has a wonderful life, living in a beautiful house with access to a big backyard, and a loving family that adores him.

We also have a pitbull named Floyd and a Chinese crested/toy poodle mix Named Lil Mubo.

Synthesizer goodness! - the studio

Here we have my studio room, this pic shows it still being set up and without my wall mounted flat screen computer monitors ( 3 total).

I built the wall mounts from parts at home depot ( $150 total)
i was going to go with music store slat board which was pretty cheap itself, but paying $25 per mounting arm was NOT gonna happen!

The color is Dr.Pepper inspired, i had helped with a friends studio and had picked this color out for him, a year later and i got the chance to set up my own studio and decided i needed to go with the same color.

I removed the closet doors and hung up a cool black curtain in place of the ugly white slatted monsters! -- I also put my work bench in the closet, so i have quick access to my many projects, musical and otherwise .... to me it's nice to be able to fix up a patch cable or solder up something cool to patch into the MS-10 without having to leave the room.
